For many years Earthsafe has been the preferred contractor providing the emergency plumbing response to the vast majority of McDonalds Restaurants in the Hunter Valley. Restaurant locations include Belmont, Broadmeadow, Cessnock, Charlestown, East Maitland, Edgeworth, Glendale, Heatherbrae, King Street Newcastle, Hexham, Kurri Kurri, Lake Haven, Raymond Terrace, Salamander Bay, Thornton, Wallsend and Warners Bay, as well as both the north and southbound restaurants on the F3 freeway.
A case study of particular interest is the McDonalds Restaurant at Hexham. The restaurant is not connected to town sewage. Earthsafe proposed a wastewater treatment solution designed to effectively and efficiently manage the environmental and economic factors. The proposal was implemented successfully. The wastewater is treated on site at a packaged treatment plant and then pumped into the Hunter River. To ensure the marine environment remains healthy, McDonalds Australia holds a Licence with the NSW EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Earthsafe manages the plant to maintain water quality to ensure compliance with the conditions of the licence.
